HP are now very open about their policy of blocking non-HP inks using firmware (and other means) that in their latest generation of OfficeJet printers. I can't recommend this printer unless you add a constant & resettable ink system, which I am waiting to doīe wary of newer HP OfficeJet printers - many don't support refillable or compatible inks so check! I will add, shame on HP for doing what is most likely, illegal changes the printers operating system to stop any third part printing cartridges and stop you refilling original HP cartridges. So I suggest you stick to a Epson ET 2500 with its own refillable constant ink system. This can work out expensive & the HP program can still lock you out of using your own printer and your own cartridges, without any way of over riding cartridge error messages, forcing the printer not to print. Making "instant ink" the only way of economically printing with this printed. These updates have caused, any and all unbranded printer cartridges to fail. HP constantly bombard your computer with updates of this product. The only problem is a huges and unreasonable HP programing updates that causing brand new unbranded cartridges ( some time HP ones too) to stop working or even stop them from starting to work. This is one of the best printers I have ever had. Great Printer & Easy to use but beware HP will lock out any unbranded print catridges
